Criminal Background Check Information

To ease the process of applying for nursing schools in the Texas Gulf Coast area, the process of administering criminal background checks has been streamlined. Instead of each student submitting to a background check for each school they apply for, the student can now submit to one or two background checks and have the results available to each school the student applies to.

Depending on the school, the student will contact either Certified Background, Group One or PreCheck for their mandatory criminal background checks.

To begin the process, the student will first determine which schools of nursing they wish to apply to from the list below. Each school is listed under either vendor. Please note that some schools may be listed with both vendors.

If you do not see your desired school listed, please contact the admissions department for that particular program.

Based on the vendor table above, please click on the appropriate link. Once you are on the vendors site, you will be able to submit your application giving the vendor permission to run a criminal background check along with payment via a secured Internet transaction.
