In nursing school, students will take many classes to learn the theory of nursing. These courses will include pharmacology, clinical concepts, anatomy and physiology, case management, psychology and informatics among others. These courses are designed to give the student the foundation of information needed to be successful in the workforce.

Clinicals

In addition to the standard course load, students will be required to complete on-site clinicals to gain hands-on experience in the practice of nursing. The clinical rotations required include: Medicine-Surgery (Med-Surg), geriatrics, pediatrics, maternity and general medicine. Simulation labs are also utilized for students to gain experience needed to become an RN. These clinical experiences give the student the opportunity to do the work of an RN in a safe and controlled setting.
